- Executive Secretary ICO
Aanwezig: maandag tot en met donderdag
ICO (the Interuniversity Centre for Educational Sciences) is a Dutch research school in the domain of educational sciences, and was established in 1988 as a partnership between the universities of Twente and Groningen. Its aim was offering advanced courses to its PhD candidates. This collaboration was soon expanded to include research. At this moment, educational institutes of thirteen Dutch and Belgian universities participate in ICO. The general mission of ICO is to organize postgraduate training in a strong research-based environment. PhD candidates learn to advance scientific theories for understanding processes and systems of learning and instruction.
In 1994, ICO was formally accredited as a ‘research school’ by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) for the first time. In 2012, ICO was re-accredited by the KNAW, over the period 2012-2018.
